Once again St. Luke Parish has graciously agreed to support Operation Assisting Santa. Our mission, in conjunction with local Veteran organizations, is to ensure local Veterans and their families, who might not be able to do so otherwise, have the Christmas they truly deserve. People will be able to “adopt” one of the children from our program beginning Saturday, November 12. The cards will be in the front of the church on tables. There will be two cards stabled together. One card will have a place to put your name, phone number and address. Place this card with your name, phone number and address filled out in the box marked “Operation Assisting Santa.” The second card will contain the age, gender, and the child’s Christmas list. Keep this card with the child’s information and return this same card with the purchased gift(s) UNWRAPPED (if you would like to use a gift bag, that is fine) by Sunday, December 11. Anyone wishing to make a monetary donation can make a check payable to THE ERIE VETS HOSPITAL and place it in the box marked “Operation Assisting Santa” no later than Sunday, December 11. Always remember, if not for the brave service of our Veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families, no one, not a single individual, would be able to enjoy any of the tremendous freedoms this country has to offer. Thank you in advance for your generosity. Mooch Zielewski, coordinator of Operation Assisting Santa. |
