Receiving Sacraments

Baptisms are by appointment. Parents anticipating the birth or Baptism of their child are expected to attend a Baptismal Class. Reservations are required for the class. First Reconciliation is usually made by children in second grade. Preparation is provided for all parish youth in both public and private schools. These classes are taught by St. Luke School and our Faith Formation teachers. Our Faith Formation Director, Mrs. Jessica Anaya, oversees and can be reached by at the rectory office at (814) 825-6920.  

First Eucharist is usually made by children in third grade. Preparation is provided for all parish youth in both public and private schools. These classes are taught by St. Luke School and our Faith Formation teachers. Our Faith Formation Director, Mrs. Jessica Anaya, oversees and can be reached at the rectory office at (814)825-6920.

The Sacrament of Confirmation is made by parish students in grades 9 and 10. Preparation requires attending classes, a retreat, service hours, etc. and is provided for all parish youth in both public and private schools. 

**Obtaining a Sponsor Certificate: To act as a Sponsor for the Sacrament of Baptism and/or Confirmation requires a Sponsor Certificate. This certificate can be given only to registered members of the parish who are baptized, confirmed and attend Mass, are at least 16 years of age and receive the sacraments regularly. If the person requesting the certificate is married, the marriage must have taken place in conformity with the Laws of the Church.

RCIC (Rite of Christian Initiation) for children is for children that enter the parish but have not been baptized, received First Reconciliation or First Eucharist. Children are instructed at their own pace. Please contact our Faith Formation Director, Mrs. Jessica Anaya, through the rectory office at (814) 825-6920 to get started.

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation) for adults is for all adults who wish to learn about the Catholic faith, choose to receive the sacraments of Initiation into the Catholic Church or to just learn more about their faith. Sessions are held weekly beginning in September, ending with the Easter Vigil Mass and instructed by our parish priests and deacons. Please contact Fr. John P.
